Bruno was born on April 13, 1913, in Beselare. He was married to Madeleine Homey and together they had three children: Jozef (1941), Marie-Rose (1942) and Henriette (1944). Bruno worked as a farmer and flax worker.
On August 8, 1944, Bruno was arrested during the raid, suspected of:
- Receiving and distributing veiling press
- Providing shelter to his brother Maurice, a member of the resistance (OR)
- Providing shelter to work refusers
Bruno was first detained at the Minor Seminary in Roeselare and transferred the same day to the prison in Ghent. At the end of August, he was deported to Neuengamme, where he was put to work in the brickworks.
Due to hunger, illness and mistreatment, Bruno died on November 14, 1944 and was cremated in Neuengamme.
