Bloody Crane`s-bill
The plant grows about 50 cm tall and has a flowering period that extends from June to August. The red, carmine-pink flowers are defining features of this plant, which is considered a protective plant.
The plant also has medicinal uses. For instance, it is astringent and haemostatic. It acts vasodilator, anti-inflammatory and mildly sedative.
The ornamental plant is grown outdoors because it is particularly robust. It can handle temperatures down to minus 20° C. It is vigorous and fast-growing, so it is often planted as a ground cover.
